Sebeck was standing near the docks watching the ships enter and leave to harbor. "Sir, can you sign this manifest?" Sebeck turned to the vioce to see Varco, a royal ships captian, looking at him. Sebeck took the manifest and read it over, "Good, here you go." Sebeck signed the manifest and returned it to Varco. Sebeck then heard a twig behind him snap and his pushed his sword slightly out of it's sheath so the very end of the blade could be seen.

Someone one said that a person could travel the whole of their life and never see everything there was to see. Which was all very well but there came a time when just seeing new things wasn’t enough. Sometimes you had to go back to where you came from just to make sure that it was still there to go back to, or something like that. Some people could become overly philosophical and say that you had never really been anywhere until you had come back home again. But Verya had never really got to grips with thinking like that. It was like that thing people said about not being able to cross the same river twice, if that was true then what the hell where bridges for!

Internal ranting aside, the surrounding where fast becoming more and more familiar. Day trips with her father that had been long forgotten where being dragged up for cogitation. Deep within the recesses of her rather confused mind Verya had lost track of quite how close she was and the familiarity of the place had made Verya less stealthy and more clumsy. She cursed herself as a twig snapped under foot and the dangerous looking man not far away began to draw his sword.
Verya drew herself backwards a little and slide her sword from the scabbard preparing for an attack.

Sebeck drew his sword and turned slowly around to see a female he'd never seen before maybe she was a new assasin or maye a soldier in the Foncotarian army. "Who are you?" He said in the biggest and most booming voice he could muster and never looked away from her for even a second as he awaited her responce. Sebeck knew if he was to turn away that she would kill him if that was her intent.

Verya tightened her grip on her blade. His booming voice had been intimidating, but the quick jolt of fear that had passed down her spin and settle in the pit of her stomach just fuelled her foolish actions.
"I am Verya Henan, daughter of Kring the Dragonslayer." she snarled aggressively shifting her weight in preparation. "Now tell me your name so that they may know who you were." Without waiting for a response she quickly closed the gap between them and aimed a high round kick and about head height and swung her sword around behind her in hopes of catching him around the ribcage.

Sebeck dodged the kick, but not the sword. It hit him in the side, and he began to bleed from it. His guards looked at and Sebeck shot a look for them to stay out of it as he could deal with it. He quickly jumped to catch the girl and lunged at her throat with amazing speed; while all the time sreaming at her. "They know who i am and so should you. Your in MY empire, and if you disire that is where you shall die. For even if you do manage to mame me, my guards will cut your head clean off before you can even see them move towards you."

To begin with Verya grinned that it had been her to claim first blood. But before she could press her advantage she felt his hand close around her throat choking the air out of her lungs. She struggled, blood pounding in her ears but not so much that she could not make out the words he screamed. At his words Verya ceased her attempts to claw and kick at him and would have gasped if his grip had allowed. She had never seen her Emperor before, but a swift sideways glance at the previously unnoticed soldiery confirmed that this was no egocentric liar but the real deal.
She felt like a bucket of ice cold water had been thrown down her back. Half afraid that touching the man might be a decapitation offence and half afraid that she would suffocate Verya put her hand around his wrist in a feeble attempt to make him let her go. She tried to nod to show she understood but the lack of oxygen was making her head spin and all her strength seemed to drain away.
She really should learn to pick her fights with greater care.

He looked at her as the oxygen feld from her face. "I am no mortal man! I am a GOD! I am Sebeck!" He let go of her as she seemed to get what he was talking about. He looked at his guards and reassured them that it would be fine. "You not be harmed if you claim your undying alligence to me and my people." He put his sword away, and motioned for a healer, who came and began to heal the man. "Her too." He said to the healer motioning towards Verya.

When he released her Verya felt her legs buckle underneath her and she sunk to the ground ungracefully and panted, trying to get her breath back. As Sebeck put his sword away Verya followed suite, the look she was receiving from a couple members of his guard told her plainly that failing to do so would go very hard for her indeed. Obedient to his orders a healer came to see to Verya and made short work of the reddened area around Verya’s neck and even saw to a couple of her old wounds that she herself had been unable to heal.
As for the demand of allegiance…. If it had been a different situation or a different man Verya would have shown him her finger and told him where he could shove it. But the memory of the recent pain stilled her tongue. She averted her gaze and got to her feet and hoped to be let off the hook.

"All that is required of this is that you mearly say that you pledge your alligence to me, and my people. You must say the oath, and this will allow you to enter any of my cities, and seek help from any of my armies." He handed Verya the parchment with the pledge on it.
I [insert name here], do sollemly swear that from this day forth, I shall be an undying member of the alliance of Sebeck Inari. I will receive his mark on my wrist, as is the custom. I shall now resight the Ausanders cry to Sebeck, god of water. uediug tym uefil, thguorht ueht ttser uof tym tsyad.
Sebeck looked at Verya. "Say that and you will be fine, then present your wrist to me, and you shall recieve my mark."
